Rinse and drain the garbanzo beans if you have not done so yet.
In a good blender or food processor, combine the garbanzo beans, nut butter, brown sugar, melted vegan butter, and vanilla. Pulse the ingredients for 45 seconds or until you reach your desired consistency.
Add two tablespoons of the chocolate chips to the mixture and gently pulse. Fold in the remaining chocolate chips or simply place them on top of the hummus before serving.
