Ingredients

  • Mushrooms- 1 pint.
  • Olive Oil– 1 ½ tablespoon.
  • Soy Sauce– ½ tablespoon.
  • Balsamic Vinegar– 1 tablespoon.
  • Seasonings- 2 teaspoons total. see post for details
  • 6 ″ Skewers

Instructions

  • Prepare the mushrooms by cleaning them. I like to wipe my mushrooms with a clean kitchen towel or paper towel. It is okay to trim off the edge of the stem however, keep the stem attached. Thread each mushroom onto the skewers, taking care to leave plenty of room on the edges. Three to four mushrooms are probably enough on each skewer. When you thread the mushrooms, do so from top to bottom leaving the stem facing the outside (see photos).
  • In a small mixing bowl, use a whisk or a fork to blend together the olive oil, soy sauce, vinegar, and seasonings. Then use a food brush to coat all of the mushrooms with the mixture.
  • When ready to grill, preheat the grill to a medium heat. Grill for 10 to 12 minutes or until fork-tender, rotating as needed (halfway through).

Recipe Notes

To make this recipe you will need skewers.
I like wooden skewers as they are inexpensive and easy to clean up.
While this recipe is simply for mushrooms that are grilled, you are welcome to add other ingredients to the skewers.
I suggest using smaller vegetables or fruit if you will be adding anything else to the skewer.
Small tomatoes (grape sized) or pineapple chunks would work.
