4 Ingredient Date Bars

4 Ingredient Date Bars, a simple and delicious vegan dessert or snack recipe made with healthy natural ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 12 Dates -pitted and soft
  • 1 ½ cups Nuts -chopped
  • ¾ cups Coconut Shredded
  • 1 ⅔ cups Dark Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  • Line a rimmed baking pan or dish with parchment paper that overhangs the sides of the pan or dish.
  • Place the pitted dates in your food processor or blender. Give the blender or food processor a few quicks pulses to get the breakdown of the dates started.
  • Add the chopped nuts to the blender or processor (leaving a few behind if desired for topping). Also add the coconut and process or blend until the mixture is blended and sticky with small pieces of nuts still visible.
  • Transfer the ingredients to your prepared pan and evenly press the ingredients in place.
  • Next, melt the chocolate according to the directions on the packaging.
  • Evenly spread the melted chocolate over the bars. You can add any desired toppings such as chopped nuts to the top as well at this point.
  • Let the bars sit for ten minutes at room temperature and then place them into the refrigerator (about 25-30 minutes) or freeze ( about 15- 20 minutes) to fully set.
    To slice the bars into servings, simply use the extended parchment paper to life the bars out of the pan and on to a flat surface for cutting .
