Ingredients

  • Greek Yogurt- 1 cup. Feel free to substitute in a vegan alternative such as a vegan milk instead. Coconut milk or a nut milk would probably go well in this recipe for example.
  • Avocado- 1. Peel the skin off remove the pit, and slice or cube the avocado before adding it to this smoothie.
  • Banana- 1 average banana. Again peel off the skin and cut or cube the banana first.
  • Honey– 1 tablespoon feel free to add less, more, or an alternative such as agave instead.
  • Vanilla Extract- ½ teaspoon.
  • Ice- 4-6 cubes or as desired.
  • Optional- ½ cup spinach or kale 1 teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa, or even protein or similar powders as desired.

Instructions

  • Starting with the Greek Yogurt, add the ingredients in the order as listed above. Add the minimum in ice cubes and adjust needed if you are desiring a certain consistency.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!! :)

Recipe Notes

As mentioned , the blender that you are using to make your smoothie can make a difference in how well your smoothie turns out. When I make smoothies I like to use a Vitamix blender for example because it is sturdy and can take on a variety of textures and ingredients well.
I also mentioned that this is a basic smoothie recipe meant to feature the banana and avocado.
Feel free to add healthy vegetables such as kale or spinach to amp up your smoothie as desired.
Greek Yogurt is a dairy ingredient that is added to this recipe to both assist the avocado and banana in getting along and to add to the consistency of the smoothie. Feel free to substitute in a vegan alternative such as a vegan milk instead. Coconut milk or a nut milk would probably go well in this recipe for example.
