I was not totally sure what to make this Chocolate Brownie Skillet Cake for Two.
While this is a chocolate cake, it is also a decadent chocolate brownie as well.

Chocolate Brownie Skillet Cake for Two

Chocolate Brownie Skillet Cake for Two

This is the perfect chocolate dessert to share with someone that you care about as well.
However, you could just as easily eat this yummy chocolate cake all by yourself.

I have to wonder what it is that I like most about this recipe.
Warm and just baked in the oven chocolate anything really makes be happy. However, the smell of this chocolate cake baking is really something wonderful too!

You may be wondering what the best method of eating this cake may actually be.

The obvious way to eat this chocolate brownie cake would be to simply hand out a couple of forks and let everyone fend for themselves. I could only imagine how quickly everyone trying to eat this cake would actually eat it in fear of losing out on their half.

But, you could easily make this cake in portions instead of one big skillet cake for two.

If you are making this chocolate cake for two, simply use a 10 inch cast iron skillet such as this one. But, if you want to make this Chocolate Brownie Skillet Cake for two in individual skillets, you can opt to use two smaller cast iron skillets like one of these instead.

There are also some great options for how to serve a Chocolate Brownie Skillet Cake for Two.

As mentioned above, you could simply hand out forks to everyone on hand and let everyone go for it. Of course, you could risk not getting your full half of the cake to yourself (which may be okay for you too!).

But, since this is a warm chocolate brownie cake just out of the oven, we may want to serve it up with some cold dairy.
I am specifically thinking about a la mode chocolate cake. You know, with some great tasting vanilla ice cream on the side or melting on top (YUM!). Or, in my case, a ton of whipped cream disguised as vanilla ice cream because that is all you have on hand at the moment.

We are going to use two different kinds of chocolate in this recipe.

Using two kinds of chocolate makes this recipe sound even better if you ask me!
When yous use two kinds of chocolate, you get two great versions of chocolate which seem to work together to make the entire recipe taste even better than if you had just used one kind of chocolate.

Let us start with the unsweetened or baking chocolate.
This is the kind of chocolate that has no sugar or anything else added to it. As a result, it is pure chocolate. You can find unsweetened aka baking chocolate online.

The other kind of chocolate that we will use is the semi sweet chocolate.

While you could use the baking chocolate as a bar, which is how it is sold, we will not use a semi sweet chocolate as a bar. Instead, we will use semi sweet chocolate chips- the kind that comes in the bag.

Semi sweet chocolate has ingredients other than chocolate in it.
Semi sweet has sugar added to it as well as ingredients to make it smoother and taste better. These ingredients that are added to semi sweet chocolate chips help make it better to both eat and bake with. You should read the label on the package to see what your chosen brand of semi sweet chips has in it to learn more.

I am sure that there are folks out there wondering what kind of wine to pair this chocolate brownie cake with.

I think that in a case like this, baked and concentrated chocolate, it is wise to go with something red with a lot of taste in it kind of a wine. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Pinot Noir work well.
