Easiest Ever 7 Layer Dip
I like easy recipes especially when it comes to feeding hungry people and really quick.
This is one of my go to dips to make for those hungry people too!
7 Layer Dip is a popular dip to share at parties.
I think that it is because there is something for everyone in the dip.
And really, pleasing a lot of hungry people with one recipe is a goal for a lot of us too!
I also like the flexibility of a good 7 layer dip.
First of all, I like that this is a dip that is enjoyable for a fall football game tailgate or football party at some fun location.
However, this is a great summer picnic or graduation potluck dip to share.
And, let us not forget about Cinco de Mayo when it comes to this dip.
Sure, you can surround this dip with your usual tortilla chips for for folks to dip into this.
But, you could also place a slow cooker filled with chips or a stack of empty taco shells or tortillas beside this dip for people to enjoy.
It all sure sounds good to me!
I said that this is an easy dip to make and I meant it.
But, to make this dip stand out even more, I like to put this dip into a cool looking container.
Certainly, a container made of glass is essential for this recipe because it will allow everyone to admire the lovely layers that you can creat with those great ingredients. All seven of those layers!
While the standard presentation for this could be in a glass baking dish, here are some other ideas for you.
A footed glass trifle bowl looks amazing with a 7 layer dip inside of it.
Also making a great presentation are some of these uniquely shaped glass bowls.
Possibly the most important thing about making a 7 layer dip, of any kind really, is getting the layers right.
There are several things to keep in mind when you layer your 7 layer dip.
Most importantly, it is essential that your ingredients all get along together.
Make sure that your dip ingredients will taste good when they are mixed together.
While you are not the one who will be mixing your ingredients together, they will most likely be together at some point.
That point could be on the plate that they are spooned on to. However, they will probably meet up when they are on that great tasting chip going into someones mouth,.
Here is what else to keep in mind when you layer your 7 Layer Dip.
The colors and textures must look attractive next to one another.
Not only when you look into the bowl that they are layered in but, from the side of the bowl when folks are deciding whether or not to try your layered dip.
My biggest tip to layering this tip is to keep the heavier ingredients below the lighter ingredients.
You have probably already noticed that it is usually the brown refried beans that are on the bottom of similar dips. That is because the refried beans are heavier than say the sour cream and thus, you will be less likely to have them seep into the white sour cream.

You will be able to make this dip quickly and easily. But, I do recommend allowing the assembled dip to set in a refrigerator before serving. Thus, this is a good recipe to make in advance and then grab it and go!

How to make this Easiest Ever 7 Layer Dip Ingredients..
- Start by prepping and slicing your ingredients if not already prepared. Also, drain the excess liquid from your canned tomatoes and the olives.
- In a separate bowl, blend together the sour cream and the Taco/Mexican Style seasoning. Set this bowl aside for a moment.
- We will start by layering the refried beans on the bottom of the glass container that you will use for this recipe. The refried beans are the heaviest and the darkest ingredients and thus, should go on the bottom of the bowl or container.
- Carefully, spread the mixed sour cream and seasoning from the bowl that you set aside over the refried beans. Be careful to not blend through the layer and thus, bring up your beans into your white sour cream layer. The sour cream layer should be spread as evenly as possible over the beans.
- Now layer your sour cream layer with the guacamole layer. Again, spread this evenly and without going through to the sour cream layer.
- Top the guacamole with the cheese and then the tomatoes and lastly, the sliced onion and olives.
- Refrigerate for at least an hour to allow this to set.
- Serve this with your chips for dipping.
