This is the perfect romantic, or just for fun, meal to share!

How to Make a Chicken Burrito Bowl for Two .

This is the perfect way to share a great meal with someone you enjoy being with.
However, you could just eat this Chicken Burrito Bowl all by yourself!

Burrito Bowls are very popular right now.

Their popularity could have something to do with the delicious food that goes into the bowls.
However, I kind of think they may also be popular because of how colorful they can be and how well that shows on social media.

It also seems like there are a lot of different versions of the burrito bowl.
Variety is good because it allows us to taste and try new things.
When it comes to food, I like the idea of trying new things because that is how I have found some of my favorite things.

There are some ingredients that you will most likely see in your average burrito bowl.

You will most likely see your grain and that grain is usually rice. However, having a few tortilla chips or a tortilla on the side is not out of the question.

Burrito bowls will also have at least one kind of vegetable.
Corn is a very popular choice. That is a good thing sine the yellow color of corn can really add to the colorful look of your burrito bowl.

Other vegetables that you can find in your burrito bowl are the obvious ones.

By obvious vegetables, the ones that you would see with your favorite Mexican style food.
Pico de Gillo, cilantro, and of course, avocados.

Also in your burrito bowl you will find something wet that brings it all together.
By wet, I mean sour cream or guacamole. If your burrito bowl comes with a lot of lettuce, your wet item can also be salad dressing.

Burrito bowls also have their protein.

Your choice of protein can be either meat or vegan.
Adding a protein to burrito bowls adds to the variety of ingredients as well as the colors in the bowl.

In this recipe, we will be adding chicken breast to our burrito bowls.
However, if you are a beef person, you could add beef. Or if you prefer shrimp or tofu, those are good choices as well.
It is best to prepare these protein choices like you would prepare them for a fajita or other Mexican style meal.

We have talked about what can go into your Chicken Burrito Bowl, let us talk about the bowl itself.

The obvious bowl choice for a burrito bowl would be a shallow bowl that you may use for pasta. When it comes to a burrito bowl for two, a larger but, still shallow, serving bowl would work.

What I like about this Burrito Bowl Bowl is the variety of ways that you can serve it up.
What I mean is, add a bit of lettuce to it and you have a great salad. However, serve it up with some chips and you can make this a great dip.

Something else that we need to think about is what kind of wine to serve with your burrito bowl.

The biggest consideration perhaps is how spicy your Chicken Burrito Bowl for Two actually is.
That is because you will need to choose a wine that balances or works well with that spice.

What you should focus on is a wine that is not too strong in taste.
For me, a wine that is too much for this recipe would be a heavy in oak or tannin flavors (like a Cabernet). Also, something that is very sweet would probably not work well.

What I like to keep in mind when I choose a wine for a recipe such as this one is how the wine will play with the flavors of the food.

To judge how the wine will act with the food the first thing to consider is how much spice is in the dish itself. Then the protein that is used- in this case it is a poultry. Lastly, the color of the wine can come into play.

Zinfandel, Pinto Blanc, or maybe a Chardonnay would be my choices of wine to serve with this recipe for How to Make a Chicken Burrito Bowl for Two.

About Me

food wine and love

I am a believer in healthy living and healthy eating.

When I turned a certain age (we all have our own ‘certain age’ right?), I decided it was time to eat and live in more healthy manner. I gave up meat and processed foods and adopted a diet based upon fruit, vegetables, and simple recipes. Walking, running, and yoga are a passion as are my pets.
