That recipe is about dipping strawberries into chocolate. This recipe is can be dipped as well but, into chocolate hummus that is chocolate in flavor.

Just as most hummus recipes are, this hummus recipe is made with garbanzo or chickpeas. The big hack with the garbanzo beans is that you can simply use a can of garbanzo beans.
It is the chocolate flavor that makes this recipe for hummus so special.
The chocolate flavor simply comes from using unsweetened cocoa powder. Please make sure that you are using unsweetened cocoa powder and not a powdered chocolate milk product.
Here are some Tips for making a Delicious Chocolate Hummus.
I just mentioned that using a can of garbanzo beans that are basically ready to go into a recipe is a great hack for this recipe. Also, I mentioned that chocolate flavor simply comes from using unsweetened cocoa powder, which is something that you probably already have in your kitchen cupboard.
Here are some more great tips for you.
- This recipe for vegan chocolate hummus works great in a food processor. I like to make mine in my Vitamix blender.
- Sweetening for this hummus will come from maple syrup or honey. However, you could alternatively use a banana or sugar alternative instead.
- This recipe calls for adding water. The water is added more for texture than anything else. Feel free to omit the water or add additional water as needed. Even better perhaps, is that you could use almond milk instead.
Here is how to prepare dry garbanzo beans for this recipe.
Yes, the canned stuff is just so simple to use in this recipe. I mean, all your have to do is open the can and drain out the water.

But some folks would rather prepare their own garbanzo beans for hummus.
To prepare the garbanzo beans, or chickpeas, simply place that into a large bowl. Cover the beans with water overnight (to soften them up).
In the morning you can drain the chickpeas and transfer them to a large pot. Fill the pot with water and bring to a boil then reduce the heat and allow the chickpeas to simmer for an hour. Drain the chickpeas and allow them to cool.
Okay, so now you may be asking what you should serve your chocolate hummus with.
Obviously, you can simply eat it plain, keeping in mind that two tablespoons make for an average serving size. However, fruit, such as strawberries, or a cracker would probably work well too.
