This recipe for a healthier pizza crust reminds me of my Gluten Free Butternut Squash Pizza Crust.
That crust featured butternut squash while this one features cauliflower.
I must say that cauliflower crust pizza tastes pretty good.
If you are sensitive to effects of a regular bread based pizza crust, with bloating etc, then you may like this one. This crust did make a difference for me.
Obviously, you will need some cauliflower to make this recipe.
However, you will also need a food processor as we will basically be grinding the cauliflower down to resemble a grain in size and texture. Luckily, there are plenty of affordable food processors for sale online. You could probably get by with simply chopping and then grating the cauliflower by hand.
To make this recipe for cauliflower pizza crust the cauliflower will need to be in small pieces that resemble grated cheese.
To prepare your cauliflower simply break the cauliflower head down into florets and chop the florets up. Then pulse the chopped cauliflower florets in your food processor to get them down to an optimal size.

Well, we all know that cauliflower is a vegetables and that for the most part, vegetables are healthy for us. Also, because this crust is grain free it is healthier to many diet followers including gluten free, low carb, and clean eating.

- Here is an easy cheat for you. Use cauliflower rice instead of going through the trouble of preparing your cauliflower for this recipe.
- Make and bake your pizza crust on Parchment Paper . Not only will it prevent sticking, the Parchment Paper will make it easier to transfer the crust for preparation and baking.
This is not a vegan cauliflower pizza crust recipe.
The crust that is made in this recipe calls for both eggs and cheese. I would however consider it to be more of a vegetarian cauliflower pizza crust recipe.
Also, this recipe can be used to make more than just a pizza crust.
Rolling out the pizza crust and slicing it into squares can make for some great tasting crackers. I would probably add some seasonings to it.
This can include Italian Seasonings, Salt, and/or Pepper.
I should also mention that baking this crust is a double baking method.
You will need to bake the crust first and then top it and bake it as a pizza. However, you could easily wrap up your crust and refrigerate or freeze away for later pizza baking too!

It is essential that your prepared cauliflower is dried out before combining it with the other ingredients.
Allowing it to sit on paper towels or a clean kitchen towel after preparing it is one way to dry out your cauliflower. This will help your pizza crust get crisp
The ingredients needed to make a Cauliflower Pizza Crust
- Cauliflower- 1 head prepared as described. Alternatively, you could use cauliflower rice instead of going through the trouble of preparing your cauliflower for this recipe.
- Cheese- ¾ of a cup. This cheese should be grated or shredded and an Italian variety. I suggest using more than one cheese to reach the ¾ cup total- grated mozzarella plus grated or shredded Parmesan for example.
- Eggs- 2 beaten.
- Italian Seasonings- 2 teaspoons total.Such as oregano, salt varieties, etc. This can include Italian Seasonings, Salt, and/or Pepper.
How to Make a Cauliflower Pizza Crust
- If not prepared, prepare your cauliflower.
To prepare your cauliflower simply break the cauliflower head down into florets and chop the florets up. Then pulse the chopped cauliflower florets in your food processor to get them down to an optimal size. - Use a steamer basket to steam your cauliflower over boiling water for 12-15 minutes to fully steam. Then transfer the cauliflower to paper towels or a clean kitchen towel to drain and cool. Allow the cauliflower to dry well before adding it to the other ingredients in this recipe for best results.
- Preheat your oven to 400. Lay out a large Parchment Paper to prepare and bake your crust on. You can place this on top of a sheet pan if desired.
- Next, in a large mixing bowl, combine together the cauliflower, cheese, eggs and seasonings. Then transfer it to the parchment paper and work into a crust shape. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until crisp.
