    How to Make Healthy Greek Meatballs

    • Prep Time 15 minutes .
    • Bake Time 15–20 minutes .
    • Servings about 28-30 small meatballs (1 tbsp each) .
    • How to serve : Serve as an appetizer for a party or gathering or as part of a meal with pasta or rice.
    • Notes: You will need a large bowl, small cookie scoop and baking sheet or skillet.

    1. Combine In a large bowl, combine together all of the ingredients except for the chicken. Then use a rubber spatula to fold in the ingredients or your hands to combine them. Using your hands is really the easiest way to fully combine the ingredients. You can find food prep gloves here.
    2. Scoop. Use a cookie scoop to scoop out the meatballs and then roll the meatballs between your hands to help shape them.
    3. Bake. To bake these meatballs, first preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray the paper with olive oil spray. Bake the chicken meatballs for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through.
    4. Cook. To cook these meatballs on the stove, preheat a tablespoon of olive oil in your skilled on medium-high heat. Cook the meatballs for six to eight minutes, flipping them as needed so that all sides of the meatballs are evenly browned.
    5. Air Fry To air fry these meatballs, first spray them lightly with the olive oil spray. The air fryer at 375°F for 15-18 minutes, shaking or flipping the meatballs every seven minutes.

    Tips for Making the Best Juicy Greek Chicken Meatballs.

    When combining the ingredients together, try not to over-mix them as doing so can make the meatballs rubbery. Folding in the chicken with a spatula can help prevent over-mixing however, using your hands does a better job at combining.

    1. A cookie scoop is used to scoop out the ingredients so that the meatballs are all a uniform size. This ensures that the meatballs will cook at the same times and uniformly.
    2. If you are using the air frying method of making these meatballs, make sure that the meatballs are not touching one another and that there is plenty of room for the warm air to circulate. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to make this recipe in batches.
    3. Using a small cookie scoop should make one inch sized meatballs. While you could make these meatballs larger using a larger scoop, note that baking times will vary.

    • How do I know when my meatballs are done cooking. Like with any other chicken recipe, you can use an Instant-Read Thermometer. Chicken is done cooking when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F .

    • This recipe should also work with ground turkey or other kinds of poultry.
    • Instead of the fresh herbs (or with the herbs) add some finely chopped fresh spinach that has been drained.
    • Make this recipe lower in carbs by using almond flour instead of the breadcrumbs.

    Once the meatballs have fully cooled, they can be stored in an airtight container. When properly stored, they should keep for up to five days when refrigerated or frozen for up to a couple of months.
