This is called Amazing Spinach and Strawberry Salad for several reason.

Not only is this salad easy to make, it is also delicious and healthy!

Amazing Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Amazing Spinach and Strawberry Salad

This is the perfect salad to serve up on a warm spring or summer day.
Actually, it is probably a good choice for a salad any time of the year!

Did you enjoy my Avocado, Apple, and Spinach salad recipe?

That salad is a lot like this salad as they both feature spinach with fruit.
However, this recipe is really more about the paring of spinach with strawberries.

You may be wondering what are the benefits of eating strawberries.

Certainly, strawberries are fresh fruit, which to me makes them great.
However, strawberries do have benefits beyond being a fresh fruit.

Strawberries are a low sugar, low calorie, low carbohydrate food.

However, this yummy fruit also is a good source of Vitamin C as well as a few other nutrients.
But, even better, the experts tell us that strawberries are loaded with antioxidants, which is a good thing.

Anyone who knows about Popeye has probably wondered what does spinach do to the body.

We know what happens when the fictitious character known as Popeye sucks down a can of spinach.
But, you should know that spinach is loaded with Vitamin K (think blood clotting) as well as folate, Vitamins A and C.

Here is how to clean fresh spinach.

Spinach leaves are known to have sand in them. To clean the leaves simply place the spinach in a bowl of cold water for five to ten minutes, swishing the leaves around as needed. I like to then rinse the spinach and allow the spinach to drain well.

Tips Amazing Spinach and Strawberry Salad

I just mentioned that spinach needs to soak in cold tap water to help loosen up the sand from the leaves. Then it can be rinsed and allowed to drain.

Here are some more great salad tips for you.

  1. Use fresh ingredients, spinach and strawberries, for best results.
  2. While this salad calls for spinach, feel free to use only one or substituting another green.
  3. You can make this a vegan salad recipe. Simply omit the cheese or use a vegan cheese alternative to make this a vegan salad.
  4. This salad is best when served just after making it. However, you could easily make the dressing ahead of time and refrigerate it until you actually use it. Allowing the ingredients to sit together can make the dressing taste even better! (opinion)

The dressing that we are using for this recipe is an easy one to make.

You will need vinegar as it is a vinaigrette based dressing. I like apple cider vinegar in this recipe as it complements the other ingredients best.

You will also need olive oil to make the dressing.

To sweeten the dressing you will need honey . However, feel free to use sugar or the sweetener of your choice.

Here is how to hull strawberries.

Hulling strawberries means to remove the stem. Use a strawberry huller to scoop the hull from the strawberry. Alternatively, you can push a straw through the stem to push it out.
