Sheet pan pest dinner features rich salmon that is topped with a simple pesto butter and then oven roasted with fresh vegetables for a complete meal in just about 30 minutes.

What you need to make sheet pan salmon dinner.
- Potatoes. Use mini potatoes that can hold up to being baking with. Baby Yukon gold potatoes were used in my recipe however, mini red potatoes could also work. The potatoes should be cut into cubes.
- Squash. You squashed should be sliced into bite-size slices, Sliced summer squash was used to make my sheet pan dinner.
- Olive Oil. Olive oil provides flavor and moisture to this dish.
- Salt and Pepper Use a larger granule salt such as Kosher Salt.
- Salmon Fillets . Skin on or off, approximately 5-6 ounces each.
- Butter. Unsalted butter can be used. Your butter should be melted.
- Basil Pesto The pesto of your choice.

How to make Sheet Pan Salmon Pesto Sheet Pan Dinner.
- Prep Time: 5 minutes .
- Bake Time: 25 minutes .
- Servings: 4 servings .

- Notes: You will need a large baking sheet that is rimmed, a mixing bowl, whisk, and spatula to make this recipe .
- Prepare. Preheat your oven to 400f. You can prep your baking sheet with nonstick spray or the method of your choice. If you have not done so, cube your potatoes and slice your squash.
- Toss. Place your potatoes into a large bowl. Add half of the olive oil, salt, and pepper to the bowl and toss the potatoes. Then repeat this process with the remaining olive oil, salt, and pepper. Transfer the tossed ingredients to your prepared baking sheet, evenly spreading them out, and bake for 10 minutes .
- Salmon. Carefully remove the baking sheet from your oven and use a spatula or similar item to push the baked potatoes to the side, making room for the other ingredients. Place the salmon fillets in the vacated area of the pan, leaving room between the fillets. Then evenly place the sliced squash in remaining open areas.
- Topping. In a small bowl, use a whisk to combine together your melted butter and pesto to make your pesto butter. Drizzle the pesto butter over each of the salmon fillets.
- Bake. Return the baking sheet to your oven and continue to bake until the salmon has baked through.
- Serve. Let the salmon rest for a few minutes after taking it out of the oven. The remove the salmon from the sheet pan and serve with the other ingredients.

Tips for making the best sheet pan salmon.
When selecting salmon fillets, choose fillets that are similar sized so that they can bake similarly. Place the dark side of the salmon on down when placing it on to your baking sheet.
More helpful tips for you.
- Other vegetables, such as sliced zucchini or peppers, can be used instead of the summer squash. Just make sure that the vegetables are similarly sized for even baking and bite sized for easier eating.
- Use a rimmed baking sheet that will be big enough to hold all of the ingredients without overcrowding them. Depending on the sizes of your ingredients, you may need to use an additional baking sheet.
- The baking time for the salmon can differ depending on the thickness of your fillets. Your salmon should be baked through when it reaches an internal temperature of 145f.
