    Canned chickpeas work best in this recipe as they have been cooked and there is no need to soak them. These chickpeas are relatively inexpensive as well.

    1. To prepare your chickpeas, first drain the liquid from the can and then rinse the chickpeas. I like to just dump the ingredients from the can into a strainer and then rinse them. After rinsing your chickpeas gently pat them dry with a clean paper or kitchen towel (moisture may prevent the other ingredients from sticking to the chickpeas).
    2. Regular olive oil is used in this recipe. Other oils that can stand up to a higher temperature, such as sunflower oil or avocado oil, may also work in this recipe.
    3. Feel free to use the seasonings of your choice. I like a Mediterranean diet seasoning or savory seasoning blend in this recipe too.
    4. Your chickpeas are done roasting when they are golden brown and crispy. They may also let out a slight whistle when you take them out of the oven and they are done.
    5. Since baking times can vary with this recipe, if your chickpeas are still soft or chewy after 30 minutes of baking you can continue baking them in five minute increments, stopping to stir every five minutes.
    6. For best results, your chickpeas should be stored in an airtight container such as a glass jar to prevent any kind of moisture getting near them.

    Bake Time: 30 minutes .

    1. Prepare. Prep your chickpeas as indicated (drain, rinse, and dry). Preheat your oven to 425 and prep a rimmed baking sheet for nonstick.
    2. Toss. In a large bowl or zip top bag, combine together all of your ingredients. Then toss the ingredients and toss until the chickpeas are fully coated.
    3. Bake. Transfer your coated chickpeas to your prepared baking sheet, evenly spreading them out. Then bake the chickpeas until crisp and golden, about 30 minutes, stopping to stir every ten minutes.
    4. Cool. Once your chickpeas are golden and crisp they can be removed from the oven and allowed to cool for five to ten minutes before enjoying.

    Once your chickpeas have fully cooled, they can be transferred to a jar for storing. When properly stored, roasted chickpeas should keep crisp for up to five days. It is best to avoid storing roasted chickpeas in a bag or refrigerator as moisture can keep them from keeping crisp.
