    Tips for making the best

Select a bit-sized pasta, such as penne or fusilli, that is a similar size to the broccoli florets. This will make this recipe easier to enjoy.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. The pasta is cooked at dente as maintaining the structure is important. Avoid over-cooking your pasta as doing so can make your pasta soft and 'mushy'.
    2. Save a tablespoon or two of your pasta water and stir it into your skillet ingredients for a 'creamier' sauce texture. Leftover broccoli water can also give the sauce a bit of texture.
    3. Fresh broccoli is preferred in this recipe as it will hold its shape better when cooked with the other ingredients.
    4. When cooking your broccoli, cook it until it is just tender- avoiding over-cooking it. Over-cooked broccoli can get mushy.
    5. Using extra virgin olive oil with a robust flavor can give this dish an even better taste.
    6. Adding a protein, such as cooked chicken strips or shrimp, can take this recipe up a notch.

How to make Skillet Broccoli Pasta

    Prep Time: 15 minutes.
    Cook Time: 15 minutes .
    Servings: 4 .

    1. Prepare. Gather your ingredients as indicated. Have your broccoli broken into florets and your pasta cooked al dente.
    2. Broccoli. Slightly pre-cook your broccoli by placing into boiling water for three minutes and then removing it from the water and setting is aside. You can save some of the water for your sauce if desired.
    3. Sauté. In a large skillet on medium heat, heat your olive oil for one minute. Then add your minced garlic (along with optional red pepper flakes) and sauté until soft and fragrant (about two minutes).
    4. Combine. Add your cooked pasta and broccoli to the skillet and toss the ingredients to combine. Stirring in leftover pasta or broccoli water as desired can help create a creamier sauce. Turning the stove heat off while tossing the ingredients can be done to avoid over-cooking the pasta and broccoli.
    5. Serve. You can serve your broccoli and pasta as is or with a bit of grated parmesan or similar cheese on top.

Expert Tip👉 Rinsing your cooked pasta is a good way to stop the cooking process and get it to al dente..

How to store pasta with broccoli.

Once it has fully cooled, leftover broccoli with pasta can be stored in an airtight container. When properly stored, broccoli with pasta should keep for up to four days when refrigerated.
