To make this pizza on the grill simply brush the bread with olive oil and grill it for a few minutes until it begins to brown. Remove the flatbread from the grill add the remaining ingredients and grill covered until done (should only take a few minutes).
The ingredients needed to make this Flatbread Pizza recipe.
- Flatbread Pizza Crust- 1 crust. You can use this recipe to make your own I also have Flatbread crust or you can use a pre-made flatbread crust.
- Olive Oil- 1 teaspoon.
- Mozzarella Cheese- 1 cup shredded. Alternatively, you can use a Mozzarella cheese ball that you cut into pieces or chunks.
- Tomatoes- 2 medium size sliced (about 8 ounces). Alternatively, you can use four Roma tomatoes instead.
- Garlic- 3 cloves chopped or minced. That is about 3 teaspoons minced.
- Basil- 6-8 leaves chopped or as desired. Fresh basil is desired.
- Seasonings as desired- This can include Italian Seasonings, Salt, and/or Pepper.
How to Make Margherita Flatbread Pizza.
- Prepare the flatbread as indicated in the manufacturers directions. I suggest preparing it on parchment paper for easier clean up and transport.
- Preheat the oven to 425. Then brush the flatbread with the oil and bake for two to three minutes to get warm.
- Remove the flatbread from the oven and assemble the toppings starting with the cheese and then the tomatoes.
- Return the pizza to the oven and bake until it begins to brown- about eight to 10 minutes.
- Feel free to top with additional cheese or seasonings before serving.
