It is also blended with bread soaked with milk.

Instead of the milk, you can use a nut milk or the reserved water from making the pasta.
You can omit the bread as well if desired.
Ingredients needed to make Mediterranean diet walnut pasta sauce.
- Bread- 1 slice with the crush removed.
- Milk- ⅔ cup. You can use the reserve water from the pasta or a vegan or lower fat milk. Technically, this recipe is made using whole milk.
- Walnuts- 1 ½ cups, shelled. You can use toasted or raw walnuts.
- Garlic- 1 clove, minced or chopped.
- Olive Oil- 3-4 tablespoons.
- Parmesan Cheese- 3 tablespoons.
- Seasonings as desired. This can include Italian Seasonings, Mediterranean Diet Seasoning Blend, Greek Seasoning Blend, Salt, and/or Pepper.
