This recipe is a bit more simple than that but, just as tasty.

This recipe is for anyone asking what are the benefits of eating carrots.

Carrots are one of the easier vegetables to enjoy. They are relatively inexpensive, easy to find, and can be eaten raw or in other recipes.

However, there are some nutritional benefits associated with eating carrots.

Carrots contain nearly no fat, are a decent source of fiber, and even have a bit of protein in them. Even better, carrots are a great source for Vitamin A, beta-Carotene, Folate, and Vitamin K (among other things!).

People have asked how do you steam carrots in an air fryer.

Let me start by mentioning that I am not sure anything is meant to be 'steamed' in an air fryer. At least, I would never use my air fryer to steam anything as an air fryer really seems to depend on dry heat for cooking.

When it comes to air frying many vegetables, I like to think of it as an alternative for 'oil frying'.

Preparing vegetables to be air fried, such as carrots or even potatoes, is key to getting a taste and result that rivals the oil frying version. As a result, this recipe calls for a simple way to prepare the carrots to make them as good or even better than the oil fried version.

    Tips for air frying.

I just mentioned that air frying vegetables such as carrots is meant to be a healthier way to get a fried result but, without all of the oil. The trick it to prepare the carrots before placing them into the air fryer.

Here are some more great tips for you.

    1. Air frying the carrots works best when they are not overlapping in the basket. For bet results, place the carrots not touching one another in the basket. You may need to air fry in batches if you have extra carrots.
    2. Using full-sized carrots works great for longer carrots that can be dipped as an appetizer. Simply cut the carrots lengthwise to your desired thickness.
    3. Baby carrots work well too in an air fryer. I like that baby carrots are easier to eat because of their size, especially for kids. Air fried baby carrots are good as an appetizer or as a side.

The aioli should be smooth and refrigerated.

You may be wondering does air frying destroy nutrients.

I have heard that cooking about any vegetable can break down the nutrients.
However, since we are not cooking this dish in oil or other substances, I would think that any loss of nutrients would be less than more other methods.

I mentioned above that these carrots can be served with a simple Aioli Mayonnaise dip.
There is a recipe above for both a vegan and nonvegan aioli dip that you can use.

Also mentioned was that any sized carrot will work in this recipe.

If you choose to use a full-sized carrot, simply cut the carrots lengthwise until you get the size that you want. You may need to make this recipe in batches to keep the carrots from overlapping in the basket.

Ingredients needed to make Spicy Air Fried Carrots

    • Carrots- 1 pound. If using bagged carrots that have been peeled, rinse them and allow the water to drain off. Larger carrots should be peeled if they have not been.
    • Seasoning- 1 teaspoon. Suggested seasonings include Cajun seasonings, Mediterranean diet seasonings, an all purpose seasoning, or simple salt. Feel free to use additional as needed to taste.
    • Olive Oil- 1 tablespoon.
    • Nutritional Yeast- 1 tablespoon.
    • Optional- additional seasonings such as salt and pepper for serving as needed.

How to make Spicy Air Fried Carrots

    • Prepare the carrots. If you are using raw full-sized carrots, peel the dirty outer skin and remove the ends. Then slice the carrots lengthwise to your desired thickness. Small carrots that have been peeled should be rinsed and allowed to drain.
    • Preheat the air fryer to 390.
    • Place the carrots in a large bowl. In a small bowl, use a fork or a whisk to blend together the seasonings, olive oil, and nutritional yeast. Pour the blended ingredients over the carrot and toss to fully cover the carrots. .
    • Place the carrots into the air fryer basked, preferable so they do not touch so that they can evenly cook. Cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking or stirring the carrots in the basket, or until the carrots reach your desired result (some folks like them softer than others do).
    • Serve with the above dip or as desired.
