I like that this recipe is low in fat, gluten free, and vegan as well.

Did you try my Vegan Lentil Cakes in Garlic Sauce?

That recipe for lentil cakes reminds me of this one even though it is made with lentils and can be topped with sauce.
This recipe is really more of a nugget that is perfect for dipping in sauce.

This recipe is for anyone asking are crispy brussels sprouts good for you.

I get that anyone making any kind of a ‘tot’ may want their tot to be crisp.
It sure can make it easier for dipping.

The truth is that in a recipe such a this one, crispy is not a bad thing.

Brussels sprouts are low in calories, low in carbohydrates, and are a great source for vitamin c.
Even better, brussels sprouts can be used in a recipe such as this one.

You may also be asking how do you prepare brussels sprouts.

I suggest first cleaning your brussels sprouts. Start by trimming off the ends and removing any unhealthy leaves.

Use a colander to rinse the sprouts off in cold water.

Then allow the brussels sprouts to drain. You can use a clean kitchen or paper towel to pat the sprouts dry before grating them.

Tips for making brussels sprouts.

I just mentioned that the brussels sprouts should be have their ends and bad leaves trimmed off. Then rinse them in cold water, allow them to drain, and then pat the sprouts dry.

Here are some more great tips for you.

  1. This recipe calls for mashed potatoes that you can make by hand or use already prepared. The potatoes act as a binder and and add texture and taste to this recipe.
  2. I would agree that sometimes a vegan recipe can seem bland especially if you are use to the regular nonvegan recipe that it is replacing. Because everyone has their own kind of taste, I suggest Seasonings as desired. This can include Italian Seasonings,
Salt, and/or Pepper. I like a Mediterranean Diet Seasoning Blend that has little or no added salt.

  3. You can make these tots even more crisp. Simply spray them lightly with an olive oil spray half way through baking. Also, make sure that you stir or flip the tots as they bake.

How to make Vegan Brussels Sprouts Tots in an air fryer.

Yes, you can try making these tots in an air fryer.
Lightly spray the basket with nonstick spray and preheat the fryer to 375.

This recipe works best when made in batches in the air fryer.

Lay the tots in the basket so that they do not touch. Air fry for 15 to 20 minutes or until crisp, shaking the basket every five minutes.

Here is a simple dipping sauce for anyone asking what are some vegan sauces.

To make a vegan version of a salsa mayo dip for the sprouts simply combine together the following ingredients. Vegan Mayonnaise (1 cup), Salsa (1 cup) and seasonings such as All Purpose Seasonings(1-2 teaspoons).
