What you need to make to make homemade chicken nuggets
- Chicken. Use ground chicken in this recipe.
- Greek Seasoning. Mediterranean seasoning can alternatively be used.
- Eggs. Your eggs should be lightly beaten.
- Panko Style Bread Crumbs. Whole grain bread crumbs are more friendly to the Mediterranean diet.

- Prep Time 5 Minutes .
- Bake Time 25 Minutes .

- Notes: You will need a rimmed baking sheet, bowls, and a scoop.
- Prepare. Preheat your oven to 400f. Prep a rimmed baking sheet for nonstick. Parchment paper or a baking mat can work for this recipe.
- Dredge Station. To make your dredging station you will need shallow bowls. In the first bowl place your bread crumbs along with a half tablespoon of the seasoning and use a fork to blend them together. The second bowl should contain your beaten eggs. For the last bowl, combine together the ground chicken and the remaining seasoning.
- Scoop. Using a small scoop, scoop out ground chicken and roll it between your hands to form a ball.
- Dredge. Dip the first ground chicken ball into the bowl with the egg and then roll the ball around in the bowl with the panko nuggets until covered. Place the coated chicken ball on to your prepared baking sheet and then press the ball down to about a half inch thick. Continue the process with the remaining ground chicken.
- Bake. Bake the chicken nuggets for 20-25 minutes or until the turn golden brown, flipping them over halfway through (about 10 minutes).

Tips for making the best homemade chicken nuggets.
Ground chicken was used to make my nuggets. Other poultry, such as ground turkey, could also work in this recipe.
More helpful tips for you.
- When combining the ground chicken with the seasoning, do so until just combined, avoiding over blending which can ruin the ground chicken structure. You can use your hands to do this.
- Freezing the formed nuggets for 20 minutes before baking can help them hold their structure better. You can also prepare the nuggets in advance and refrigerate them for up to overnight before baking them.
- This recipe can also be made in an air fryer, air frying the nuggets 380-400°F. No matter which method you use, your chicken is done baking when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. You can help make the nuggets more crisp on the outside by spraying them with a bit of olive oil before baking them.

How to store ground chicken nuggets.
Once your chicken nuggets have fully cooled they can be stored in an airtight container. When properly stored, they should keep for up to four days when refrigerated or up to a few months when frozen.
