You may be wondering does Greek yogurt tenderize chicken.

As I mentioned a moment ago, this recipe for Greek chicken does include Greek yogurt.
Greek yogurt does offer more than flavor and texture to this chicken recipe.

There is a benefit that Greek yogurt adds to this recipe in addition to flavor and texture.

Greek yogurt is a more mild acid than vinegar or a citrus juice such as lemon juice. As a result, the tenderizing of the chicken is more mild and that helps us keep the chicken tender after cooking, rather than turning into well...'rubber'.

I often get asked, how do you properly cook chicken.

Personally, I look at properly cooked chicken as a combination of what you are looking for as a result of cooking the chicken. Also, making sure that the chicken is cooked safely is important.

Following the ingredient list and the process provided are a start for making properly cooked chicken.

The experts tell us that for chicken to be safe for consumption it should reach an internal temperature of 165 f and not have any signs of pink in it. As far as the flavor goes, yes the ingredient list is important as is making adjustments as needed (we all have different tastes right?).

    1. This recipe works best with boneless and skinless chicken breast. If desired, you can cut the chicken into smaller pieces.
    2. This recipe does call for lemon juice. The lemon juice is needed to assist the Greek yogurt in tenderizing as well as adding flavor. If you do not have lemon juice, you can use balsamic vinegar instead.
    3. Marinating makes this chicken great because it adds to the tenderizing process and provides flavor. I like to marinate my chicken overnight in the refrigerator. However, you should discard the marinade once you remove the chicken to cook.

Make this a Grilled Greek Chicken recipe.

Yes, this is intended to be a stove top cooked Greek chicken recipe.
However, this recipe can also me made on a grill.

Here is how to grill this chicken recipe.

Marinate as instructed below. Prep your grill grates for nonstick and set it to a medium-high heat. Cook the chicken until the juices are clear, flipping at least once. It should take about 25-30 minutes.

What is the average amount of juice in a lemon?

This recipe calls for a quarter cup of lemon juice. The average lemon will yield you about a quarter of a cup which meant that you will probably need just one lemon for this recipe.
