A recipe for the Easiest Greek Chicken that also tastes really good.

I must admit that I love how easy this chicken recipe is to make!

Easiest Greek Chicken

Easiest Greek Chicken

The perfect chicken recipe for anyone looking for something easy and yummy to serve.
This recipe is really all about the seasonings and the lemon and how they make the chicken taste so good!

This recipe reminds me of my popular Easy Italian Baked Chicken recipe.

That chicken recipe was really about the Italian seasonings that are baked into a delicious chicken dinner.
This recipe however, is more about the flavor with the Greek influence on the chicken.

This recipe is great for anyone asking about different types of cooked chicken.

I know all about what I would call ‘chicken burnout’.
You know, when you have made or eaten chicken so much that you are tired of it.

Greek chicken is a really nice alternative to the usual baked chicken recipe.

The marriage of the lemon and the seasonings makes this a great tasting meal.
If you like the flavor of lemon with chicken then you will like this recipe as well,

What Greek seasoning made of is a good question to ask.

Greek seasoning is especially known for the combination of oregano, garlic, marjoram, possibly some mint (lamb), and a bit of salt. To be honest, you can easily find Greek Seasoning already blended for you in a bottle online.

For this recipe you can easily get away with using a pre-made seasoning mix for the seasonings in the ingredient list.

You will also need olive oil and lemon juice.
I suggest using fresh lemons if possible for this recipe.

Tips Easiest Greek Chicken

I just mentioned that an easy cheat for this recipe is to use Greek Seasoning already blended for you in a bottle online. Simply use between two and three tablespoons and omit the other seasonings that are already in the blend.

Here are some more great tips for you.

  1. This recipe tastes even better when it is allowed to marinate. If possible, allow the chicken to marinate overnight.
  2. For this recipe you can use cut up chicken breast or any part of the chicken that you like. Just remember to cut the chicken up. Skinless chicken does just fine as well.
  3. This is a chicken recipe that works great on the grill. However, I also like the idea of cutting the chicken into two to three inch pieces and cooking it with vegetables on the side (red peppers, broccoli, or even potatoes).

What do you serve this chicken with?

First off, when it comes to wine, I like a Sauvignon Blanc (dry white) or maybe a rose depending on how much lemon flavor is in the chicken. Zinfandel is also good if you are grilling your chicken.

However, vegetables are also important for serving this chicken with.

Potatoes are the given vegetable of choice (Mediterranean Diet Roasted Potatoes or a Mediterranean diet friendly potato salad. I also like a great salad on the side.

What is the average amount of juice in a lemon?

This recipe calls for a quarter cup of lemon juice. The average lemon will yield you about a quarter of a cup which meant that you will probably need just one lemon for this recipe.

Earlier I mentioned that an easy cheat for this recipe is to use Greek Seasoning already blended for you in a bottle online. Simply use between two and three tablespoons and omit the other seasonings that are already in the blend.

This recipe also works well on a grill.

To grill this chicken be sure to first pre-treat the grates for nonstick on grill for 10-15 minutes on each side or until the chicken is no longer pink.

The ingredients needed to make Greek Chicken.

  • Olive Oil– ÂĽ cup plus additional for cooking.
  • Lemon Juice– ÂĽ cup. Freshly squeezed is preferred.
  • Garlic– 3 cloves minced (about three teaspoons).
  • Greek Seasoning– 1 ½ tablespoons (or ½ tbsp of thyme, rosemary, and oregano).
  • Salt and pepper as desired.
  • Chicken- 1 pound. This can be any part, such as breast, and skinless if desired.

How to Make Easiest Greek Chicken

  • In a small mixing bowl, use a whisk or a fork to blend together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and seasonings. Add any additional seasonings such as salt and pepper to taste.
  • I like to marinate chicken or meat using a zip top bag. Simply place the chicken into the bag and toss the chicken in the seasoning blend from the bowl by pouring the bowl contents over the chicken. Place the chicken into the refrigerator for at least two hours (or overnight) to marinate.
  • When you are ready to cook your chicken preheat a large skillet with two teaspoons of oil on medium heat.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and dispose of the marinade as this cannot be reused. Cook the chicken until it is no longer pink inside, about ten minutes.
