Tips for making a great summer salad.
Summer salads are amazing because they feature the freshness of seasonal fruits and vegetables.
Feel free to add fruit or vegetables to this salad that you have grown fresh in your own garden.
Here are some more great tips for you.
- My salad features fresh cantaloupe. You can easily substitute in watermelon or a similar melon if you desire to.
- Arugula was used to make my salad. You can make this salad even easier by using a prepackaged spring salad, which also contains arugula.
- Quinoa is used in this recipe. You can find already cooked quinoa at many grocery stores or here. Using already cooked quinoa may be a good idea if you are assembling this salad at a picnic or gathering.
How to make a summer salad even better.
This tasty salad is great just the way that it is.
It features fresh fruit and lettuce tossed in olive oil.
Here is how you can make your salad even better.
- Instead of using olive oil to toss your salad in, try a nice vinaigrette dressing instead.
- Serve this salad with a cold soup on the side or with some fresh bread.
- Add some cooked shrimp, tuna, or feta cheese crumbles to your salad.
How to store summer salad.
This salad tastes great when assembled and allowed to sit refrigerated for about ten minutes before serving. Leftovers are best when stored covered and refrigerated. It is best to not add the olive oil if you are intending on storing this salad for longer than the ten minutes however.
