You may be wondering are roasted chickpeas bad for you.

If you are not a meat eater then you know how important it is to find protein that does not come from meat.
You will also find that chickpeas have other benefits related to nutrition as well including fiber, folate, and magnesium.

Chickpeas are considered to be pretty healthy as they are a member of the legume family.

Vegan diet followers like chickpeas because they are low in fat, carbs, and sodium. Also impressive, chickpeas are also nearly fat free, which is why they are encouraged on a lot of diets and food plans.

Since this recipe calls for canned chickpeas, you may be wondering should you wash canned chickpeas.

For a recipe such as this one, I suggest draining the chickpeas and then rinsing them. This will help reduce sodium in the recipe as canned chickpeas are often packages with salt as a preservative.

The easiest way to dry the chickpeas for this recipe is to use a towel.

A clean dish towel will work as will a good paper towel. Simply use the towel to blot the beans dry. If blotting does not seem to work for you I suggest placing the beans between two towels and rolling or pressing them dry.

People ask, are chickpeas and garbanzo beans the same thing.

The answer is an easy one. Yes, they are the same thing only with two different names which means that
when you look for canned chickpeas, also look for canned garbanzo beans.

Here are some more great tips for you.

  1. Patting the chickpeas dry with a paper towel is one way to make sure that your chickpeas get crunchy.
I also suggest checking the chickpeas before taking them out of the oven to make sure that they are fully baked.
  2. It is a good idea to stir the chickpeas every ten minutes while they bake. This will help insure that they baked evenly.
  3. While this is a recipe for chili lime chickpeas, you could use other seasonings instead.
This can include Italian Seasonings or a Mediterranean Diet Seasoning Blend.

How to air fry chickpeas.

This recipe for crispy chili like chickpeas can also be made in an air fryer.
Start by rinsing and drying the chickpeas as directed above.

Toss all of the ingredients in a large bowl.

You may need to make this recipe in batches however, start by preheating the air fryer to 400.
Air fry the chickpeas until brown (about 15 minutes) shaking the basket every five minutes.

How to store chickpeas.

I suggest storing these chickpeas in an air tight container
They should stay crisp for a few days.
