Have you tried my Easiest Peach Galette recipe?

That Peach Galette is a similar recipe to this one however, that recipe is really about the peaches rather than berries.
This recipe is for mini galettes that can be individually served rather than one large galette that needs to be cut into pieces.

You may be wondering what is the difference between a galette and a pie.

There really are some similarities between a galette and a pie.
Both are tasty desserts that can feature fruit and are made on top of a pie crust.

There are some differences between a galette and a pie however.

Technically, a galette is French and it is more of a general term used to describe a round and flat cake.
In some cases, depending on the flour that is used to make the crust, a galette can be considered to be a pancake.

People ask what is inside a galette.

In the case of this recipe, there are very basic ingrdients.
There are no special fillings needed as this is an ‘Easy’ recipe.

This galette features three kinds of berries.

I have included equal amounts of strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries in this recipe.
However, you are welcome to use the berries of your choice as long as they total the amount indicated in the instructions below.

Tips for making a great tasting triple berry galette

Using a premade refrigerated pie crust will make this an easier recipe to make (you are welcome to make your own crust instead).
Find a crust that can be rolled out and cut into smaller sections.

Here are some more great tips for you.

  1. Here is how to prepare the fruit for a galette. Rinse the fruit and allow it to dry as you do not want to introduce the added water. Then slice the strawberries into smaller bite-sized pieces to help the galette to evenly bake.
  2. The galette should be baked on a flat baking sheet. I suggest preparing the galette on top of parchment paper which will allow for easier transferring.
  3. You will know what your galette is done as the fruit will be bubbling. Also, the crust will turn golden brown.

People always ask How do I keep my galette from getting soggy?

A soggy bottom is a common issue with galettes.
However, it is also an easy one to prevent.

Soggy bottoms can result from excess liquid inside of the galette which prevents the crust from full baking.

This is one reason why I mentioned that your fruit should be dried before adding it to this recipe as wet fruit can be a cause of this. Another tip is to brush the galette dough with cream or egg whites before baking.

How to store a galette.

This recipe is really optimal when it is freshly baked as everything smells and tastes so good at this tip.
However, leftovers can be stored covered for up to two days.
