There are no animal related products added to this recipe. Also, thanks to the chickpeas in this recipe, this recipe gives us a bit of protein too.
This pumpkin hummus recipe is not made with tahini.
Instead, we are using nut butter.
Suggested nut butters to use include peanut butter, walnut butter, almond butter, or cashew butter.
Feel free to use an organic nut butter.

- I have included molasses in this recipe as molasses is vegan. However, you are welcome to use another sweetened such as maple syrup or honey depending on your diet and tastes. You may need to adjust the amount used as well.
- I like to use my Vitamix blender to make hummus. However, a food processor should do the trick if that is what you prefer to use.

Ingredients needed to make pumpkin pie hummus.
- Chickpeas- 1 (15-15.5 ounce) can. The beans should be rinsed and drained.
- Pumpkin Puree- 1 cup. Please use a puree that has no added ingredients or puree your own pumpkin.
- Vanilla Extract- 1 teaspoon.
- Nut Butter- â…“ cup.
Suggested nut butters to use include peanut butter, walnut butter, almond butter, or cashew butter. - Ground Cinnamon-½ teaspoon.
- Pumpkin Pie Spice- ½ teaspoon.
- Molasses- 2 to 3 tablespoons as desired.
- Optional- salt as needed.
How to make Pumpkin Pie Hummus
- Add all of the ingredients to a food processor or strong blender. When adding the molasses, add a half to whole tablespoon at a time until the hummus is sweet enough.
- If the consistency of your hummus is too thick, it can be thinned out with small amounts of water or juice (a few teaspoons at a time).
- Transfer the hummus to an air tight container and refrigerate until served. Top with chopped nuts, raisins, sesame seeds, drizzled walnut oil, or as desired before serving.
