Ingredients needed to make Cucumber Salad With Honey Vinaigrette.
- Olive Oil. Extra virgin olive oil is recommended.
- White Wine Vinegar . While you could use red wine, apple cider or balsamic vinegar, white wine is the best complement to the honey.
- Honey. Maple syrup can be used to make this a vegan recipe. You will most likely need less maple syrup than you would honey.
- Cucumbers. If you leave the skin on your cucumber, you should probably clean the cucumber using your method of choice.
- Salt. This is used to pull out the excess water from the cucumber.
- Onion. My salad was made with a red onion that was sliced thin.
- Fresh Mint Leaves . The mint leaves should be chopped or sliced small.
- Optional- seasonings, such as salt, as desired as well as additional mint for serving.
Expert Tip 👉 Slicing the onion as thin as possible will help to balance out the flavors in this salad. If the onion is sliced too thick, the flavor can take over the salad the as a result.
