Ingredients needed to make easy Peanut Butter Stuffed Dates
- Dates. The dates provide a sweet shell that is both moist and chewy.
- Peanut Butter. You can use purchased peanut butter or make your own.
- Chocolate Chips. This adds a nice flavor balance to the dates as well as a crunchy element.
- Almonds. You can use an alternative nut as desired.
- Add on ingredients, includes coconut flakes, chopped nuts, crunchy cereal, chopped pretzels, kosher or sea salt, or even a vegan caramel.
How to make tasty Peanut Butter Stuffed Dates.
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
- To prepare your dates, select days that is good shape and are large enough to hold a teaspoon of peanut butter.
- Carefully slice each date from top to bottom about halfway to two thirds of the way through. Remove the pits and place each of the dates on to the prepared baking sheet.
- Use a teaspoon to fill each of the dates with peanut butter. Evenly spread the peanut butter and add additional as needed.
- Add any extra ingredients to the peanut butter center. My dates have shredded coconut and almonds on top of the peanut butter.
- Next, melt the chocolate according to the directions on the packaging. I like to use a microwave safe bowl and microwave until melted, stopping every 20 seconds to stir.
- Use a spoon, fork or dipping tools to dip the bottoms and sides of each of the dates into the melted chocolate. You can also drizzle additional chocolate over the top of the dates.
- Place the dates into your refrigerator (three to four hours) or freezer (about an hour) to set.
