Tips for making the best spiced nut mix.
Basic mixed raw nuts were used to make my mix. This included almonds, cashews, pecans with the addition of pepitas. You can use a premade mix of raw nuts or make your own mix.
More helpful tips for you.
- Make sure that you are using raw nuts so that you do not throw off the sweet or salty balance of this mix with additional salt or sugar.
- Olive oil is used in roasting the nuts. You can use an alternative oil such as avocado oil instead.
- For even more of a savory flavor you can add in onion powder, garlic powder, or even a bit of smokey paprika.
- Dark brown sugar is used to sweeten these nuts. You can alternatively use maple syrup or molasses however, you will need to use less of the liquid sweeteners so it is best to start small and taste as you go.
- Optional add-ins that you can use in this recipe include seeds, dried fruit, coconut flakes, pretzels, or cereal.
- This mix goes well when sprinkled over Vegan Ice Cream , mixed in with popcorn, or used to make your favorite Charcuterie Board.
