This is a quick bread recipe, made without yeast, for focaccia bread.
There is no added dairy in this recipe as well.
A simple olive oil topping is also included in this recipe.
To make this recipe you can use all purpose or bread flour.
Baking powder is used as to make this so that we will not need to knead or proof this bread using yeast.
Ingredients needed to make vegan focaccia bread.
- Flour- 2 ½ cups. All purpose or bread flour work in this recipe. Make this a keto friendly bread by using a keto all purpose flour. Please check the labeling to see if you will need a binder.
- Baking powder- 2 teaspoons.
- Salt- 1 teaspoon.
- Sugar- 2 teaspoons. Use granular sugar.
- Water- ½ cup. Room temperature.
- Almond Milk- ½ cup also room temperature.
- Olive oil- ¼ cup.
- Topping- Extra Virgin Olive Oil (½ cup)+ Fresh Rosemary (1 tablespoon) + salt. Optional, cherry tomatoes.
How to make vegan focaccia bread.
- Preheat your oven to 350 and prep a rimmed baking sheet or baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, use a whisk to mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Next, in a mixing bowl, beat together the almond milk with the water. Then add the dry ingredients from the first bowl along with the olive oil. Mix until just combined.
- Transfer this to the prepared baking pan or dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan before cutting.
- Serve with the topping ingredients suggested or the topping of your choice. Tip: if you choose to use my topping ingredients, spread the topping over the bread before baking to allow it to bake in for more flavor!
