- Salt. Use a small amount of a larger salt such as Kosher salt.
- Oats. Use rolled or old fashioned oats for this recipe.
- Ground Flax Seeds. Added for texture.

- Cream together the peanut butter, maple syrup, and salt until creamy.
- Add the oats and ground flax to the bowl and stir until combined.
- Transfer the mixture to your prepared baking pan and use your hands or a small rolling pin to press the mixture into place so that there is an even layer.
- Bake the bars for 10-12 minutes, in the center of your oven, or until the edges begin to turn golden brown.
- Let the bars cool in the pan for 10 minutes to fully set before removing them to fully cool on a rack.
Expert Tip 👉 If the mixture is too crumbly to work with you can add a small amount of additional maple syrup to help the ingredients stick together. For a mixture that is too moist, simply stir in a small amount of additional oats.
