Tips for making a marble cake.
While this cake is made in a bundt pan, you really can use about any cake pan of your choice.
Also, this cake recipe can also be made in a standard round cake pan or even as a loaf cake.
Here are some more great tips for you.
- Make this cake gluten free. Simply sub in gluten free flour, following the packaging directions for binding as needed.
- Sometimes bundt cakes can stick to the pan if there is a lot of detail in the design of the pan. I suggest that you double prep the pan first. That is, oil or spray the pan and then dust sugar or cocoa over the pan before adding the batter.
- Resist the urge to over 'swirl' the colors together. The marble designs looks and bakes best when it is not overdone.
- Lastly, allow the cake to fully cool before removing it from the cake pan.

- Vegetable Oil- ½ cup. Canola oil could also work in this recipe.
- Orange Juice- ⅓ cup.

Marble the cake in a bundt pan.
How to make Vegan Marble Cake with Orange.
- Preheat your oven to 350. Double prep a bundt pan for nonstick. I like to spread oil on mine using a folded paper towel and then dust the pan with either additional flour or cocoa powder. The cake will be baked with the bundt pan being placed on a rimmed baking sheet so place the prepped pan on the sheet now if desired.
- In a medium bowl, use a whisk or a fork to mix together the flour and the baking powder.
- Next, beat together the sugar and oil until blended. Then stir in your orange juice, almond milk, and vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the bowl with ingredients that you just mixed together. Mix the ingredients until just blended. Then divide the batter by transferring half of it to a new bowl.
- In the original bowl with the ingredients, stir in the orange zest. For the second, or new bowl, stir in the unsweetened cocoa.
- Pour half of the light colored batter into the prepped pan then top that layer with half the darker batter (do not mix!). Repeat this process with the remaining batter. Gently shake the filled bundt pan back and forth a few times to create the design and level the batter in the pan.
- Bake the cake for 45 to 50 minutes or until an inserted toothpick, comes out clean. Let the cake cool over the counter before unmolding.
